Here at TCG, we love fall.

The colours, the changing of the leaves, and the smell of delicious, spiced home-cooking fill the air.  One thing you’ll never find a shortage of in fall is…pumpkin!  It’s an essential fall flavour.  While pumpkin puree is usually reserved for the most indulgent Thanksgiving desserts, this recipe adds the flavour of pumpkin pie and turns it on its head to give you a healthy, easy breakfast.

This oatmeal is so good, you’ll swear you’re eating pumpkin pie.  The recipe is easy to make with only a few ingredients, and you can make a big batch to last you and your family the whole week if you choose.

We use steel cut oats in this recipe, as they are higher in fibre and protein than regular old-fashioned oats and they will keep you full and satisfied until lunchtime.  You can substitute regular oats if you choose, but make sure you use the correct ratio of oats to milk to achieve the correct cooking consistency.
