(Calgary, AB–July 26, 2016) Today, The Captioning Group Inc., a realtime closed-captioning company for North America, announced their prime-time closed-captioning schedule for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. The Captioning Group is honoured to provide viewers with the most accurate closed-captioning services during CBC/Radio-Canada’s prime-time broadcasts from August 5th to 21st.

On August 5th, 2016, The Captioning Group will begin closed-captioning of the Games, starting with the highly anticipated Opening Ceremonies. Their coverage will continue for the next 16 days, from 6:00 pm to 1:00 am ET each day.   1. Closed Captioned blocked the score during girl Volleyball Today. There is no problem of closed captioned blocking since the beginning of Olympic events until Today. Please check your captioned technology setting. Thanks

    1. Hi, LLoyd. TCG’s captioning coverage of the Games today does not begin until 1800ET as we are responsible for the primetime events. All captioning companies work closely with CBC to ensure that no scores/graphics are blocked during any event. If this problem continues, I recommend you contact CBC directly so that it can be resolved in a timely manner.
